Greetings fellow birders! I always feel slightly creepy looking out my front window with bins, but I had to this morning! Foraging along the driveway were two first year white crowned sparrows! In the pine tree above them, were two first year white throated sparrows! For me, it was interesting to compare them for id learning. I also was comparing dark eyed juncos, slaty- backed vs white winged... They come very close to the house, so I get fantastic looks, the white winged look almost striped! Fun. Does anyone know how to age juncos??
