Hi All, Every year about this time the Grackles descend on my yard a few times a day. Not too many, maybe 15-20 at most, and they are always well behaved. As with all my birds, they are welcome to help themselves to the food I leave out for them. They like the cracked corn and sunflower seeds and the cheaper mixes and will clean it out fairly quickly, but while they are here, they also do what they do best and that is to walk through my grass and eat all the bugs. Nope, a little cracked corn and some sparrow food is a cheap price to pay for not being bit by a mosquito for 4 years now. My yard use to be unusable, now it's a fun place again, thanks to birds like House Sparrows, Starlings, Grackles and of course, the Robins.
