I also visited Devil's Lake this morning and saw the Townsend's solitiare
as previously posted by Daryl Tessen. I saw it towards the top of Pot Hole
Trail. Also pileated woodpecker several times, red-breasted nuthatch and
yellow-bellied sapsucker. About a half mile south of road to Devil's Lake
had 3 eastern bluebirds. Below dam at Prairie du Sac many canada geese and
gulls and saw a small flock of robins. On way home 2 mature bald eagles
between Portage and Columbus. Also 1 common merganser below dam and many
mallards.
