[wisb] Devil's Lake Carolina Wrens - Sauk County

They're baaaaack! On Sunday I went to the park to search for possible
Solitaire's on the Balanced Rock trail, but it was pretty windy and I thought I
might have a difficult time hearing/seeing them if present. So instead, I went
to the west side of the lake along the Tumbled Rocks Trail and walked in the
sun! The area by the west side boat launch was hopping with a many A. ROBINS,
CEDAR WAXWINGS, a WINTER WREN, N. FLICKERS, PILEATED's calling and flying from
the nearby bluffs, BELTED KINGFISHER, and GOLDEN-CR KINGLETS. As I approached
the homes to the north, it got really quiet (it doesn't seem like anyone is
feeding the birds). As I walked along, I looked out at the lake, watched the
COOTS, and saw several RUDDY DUCKs. About half-way along the trail is a bench
and as you look ahead of you into the trees that line the path you will see
some orangeish berries (mountain ash?), keep going and hang around in the area
with the "berry trees" (there will even be some crushed on the pavement below
your feet). This is the area where the (2) CAROLINA WRENS were heard and seen.

Happy hunting!
