That reminds me that I neglected to mention my stop at Goose Pond in 
Columbia County Sunday evening on my way back from Oshkosh.  It was just 
after sunset, so I thought I'd swing by on the off chance there might be 
a Short-eared Owl working the prairie restorations.  No owls, but there 
were Am. Tree Sparrows flitting through the vegetation all around me, 
many of them singing.  Also heard two or three Pheasants cackle a few 
times.  With the red sunset in the west and the full moon rising in the 
east, it was a nice evening...
