The Western Great Lakes Bird and Bat Observatory will host a Big Sit at the Forest Beach Migratory Preserve (FBMP) this Sunday starting before daylight and continuing until everyone is exhausted from enjoying all of this fine Indian Summer weather. It will be held atop the FBMP hawk watch platform located in the northeast corner of the property. The Preserve is located north of Port Washington and south of Harrington Beach State Park and is the former Squires Golf Club. At 1 p.m., the hawk watch platform will be dedicated to the life and memory of hawk watcher Bill Cowart. There will be a small ceremony at the platform. Everyone is invited to join us for a few minutes or hours at the Big Sit, walk the trails on the Preserve, and attend the dedication ceremony.
