Mark your calendars now for WBCI's 2011 Annual Meeting to be held Thurs-Sat, 
Sept 29 - Oct 1, in Green Bay. Co-hosted by WBCI, the Wisconsin Society for 
Ornithology, Western Great Lakes Bird and Bat Observatory, and University of 
Wisconsin-Green Bay's Cofrin Center for Biodiversity, this three-day meeting 
will feature a unique blend of birding, science, and conservation-related 
topics.

Madison, WI's theme is "Becoming a Better Birder and Citizen Scientist" and 
will 
include hands-on eBird workshops, bird identification talks, and volunteer 
training for WBCI monitoring programs, as well as an optional afternoon birding 
field trip on Lake Michigan. will consist of an "Ornithological Symposia" 
highlighting recent news and research on birds in and around Wisconsin. Learn 
the latest on spruce grouse, golden-winged warblers, climate change, offshore 
monitoring on Lake Michigan, savannah birds, and much more.'s session will 
address "Science in Service of Management" and focus on development and 
implementation of bird monitoring programs that evaluate management and 
conservation work at site- or regional-level scales. If you're looking to help 
shape WBCI's bird monitoring efforts or start a monitoring program on your 
property, you won't want to miss this!
