While removing garlic mustard and dame's rocket this past weekend we saw the following birds. A female Northern Oriole working on removing a kite string from the top of a dead tree as the male sang nearby. She would work on it then fly away for a few minutes then come back for more. 2 of our bluebird boxes have BB fledglings and one has Tree Swallows building a nest and mating in a nearby tree. Above me as I was removing the dame's rocket I heard Blue-gray Gnatcatchers. Got my binos to watch them and found they had a nest in a dead Ash tree. This is the 3rd year in a row. Also saw a pair of Ruby-crowned Kinglets. Had a group of Cedar Waxwings fly through. They used to stop off and feed on the buckthorn berries. We removed the buckthorn so they moved on.
