[windows2000] Re: Wireless Access Points

I must say I've had the same luck with Linksys, Netgear, and D-link when it
comes to AP's. I've run all three and for some reason they only seem to last a
few months (the linksys lasted the longest which was 4). I deal with a lot of
home networks so I work a lot with these brands and I'd never expect any of
them to last more than 2 years even in a light use home enviroment.

Sadly I feel there's two classes: Home & Enterprise. I can't afford the
enterprise (nor can most small businesses) and the home grade just sucks. I'm
waiting for a small to medium sized business grade to come out but as of yet I
haven't found anything that covers that middle ground.

I have the NetGear MA40-something.. Had it turned off for over a year and
when I plugged it back in, it went right back to work. Two antennas, decent
coverage range, good compatibility (I have one 3COM card and one NetGear card).

Whatever you get, my only recommendation is stay away from LinkSys...
