Yeah, nothin worse than an unhappy boss on the rampage who doesn't care, but
don't you have access to the Windows 2K source so you can fix it yourself
!?!?!? LOL
I used to have a boss like that :-( Ho humm, life goes on !!
You could always silence you're boss, the nice way of course. Give him (& the
president) static IP addresses and remove those IP's from the DHCP scope, then
I'm afraid you're gonna have to hit the M$ site unless someone out there has a
fix already.

I do have to add that my Linux at home experiment is going extremely =
well :)

Unfortunately for me some of those people include my boss and the =
president
of the company... :) Gotta love Wintendo!

no, but I can say that I run into some of the same problems with the =3D
Win98 clients. I only have one or two since we are mostly thin here but =
=3D
I have seen it happen.

:) That's not so much of an option here, although I'd like it to be. =

Anyone fixed the Win2k DHCP service?

Thanks,

We had trouble with our Win2K DHCP server not giving out IP addresses =
=3D
(there
were plenty available, including some machines that had valid leases but
couldn't get the IP address) - again only to certain machines (these =
=3D
were
Win2K Pro or Linux desktops). You could do IPCONFIG /RELEASE then =3D
IPCONFIG
/RENEW to sort the issue but you had to log on to the client first !
SO ....
We removed DHCP from the W2K box and installed a Linux DHCP server based =
=3D
on
Redhat 7.2 - Never had ANY problems with that one ! ! !

We don't see this in all of our windows 98 clients, and all the machines =

on the same network as the DHCP server, no relays are in place.

We did not have this problem when we were running on the Windows NT 4.0 =

DHCP
service. Anyone see something like this?=3D20
