Most people do, we actually have better luck if they don't power down... I'm hoping this fix in SP3 does the duty. Rayneman -----Original Message----- From: windows2000-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:windows2000-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Aaron Dokey Sent: Thursday, September 19, 2002 9:26 AM To: 'windows2000@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [windows2000] Win2k DHCP Ever since moving to Windows 2000 DHCP service we've had problems with Windows 98 machines not getting IP addresses when they are powered on. If a client logs on right after the machine is started up they can't access any network resources because they don't have an IP. If the client waits a few minutes after the machine is up, and at the login prompt they're able to login just fine. We don't see this in all of our windows 98 clients, and all the machines are on the same network as the DHCP server, no relays are in place. We did not have this problem when we were running on the Windows NT 4.0 DHCP service. Anyone see something like this?
