That's exactly what we install for our users (Office 97). Too bad you
forgot the fix, but I am going to try Jim's explanation of trying to make
them Power Users to see if that does the trick. :-( At the same time making
them a power user will allow them to install apps right? :-(

Indeed, I did have this problem in my organization, but under Office 97.
Office 2k has thus far given me no issues, and my users have NO rights
(Terminal Services).

We did end up getting the spell checker to work, although I don't recall
how.. It was a while ago... The trust IS out there, I just forgot it. :)

Subject: [windows2000] When Admin Rights Attack!?

Situation:

We take local admin rights to pc away from users so they cannot make harmful
changes to workstations.

Problem:

Once local admin rights to the pc are taken away Microsoft Word seems to
take away the ability to spell check.

Any ideas on how to fix, or is anyone else experiencing the same problem?

Thanks for your help in advance,

Eddie Martin
