That would work on each individual PC system.
The problem is that we have an existing buzzer system spreading over the
whole factory activating about 50 buzzers, this lets 450 workers know when
to go home and if their running late!
What we were hoping to do was get a small output from the 'controlled time'
PC that could activate the buzzers on time.
Whilst looking on the net I found some PCI cards which would do a similar
job but were very expensive, I was wondering if there was a cheaper
alternative?

You're joking right ?
If not then you could always use either CTS or RTS and GND (on a COM port)
hooked to a relay to up the voltage (plus you'll need to write the code to
turn it on/off), or you could just hook up a sound card and speakers -
sample the sound the bell makes then just play it back !!!!!
