I was wondering if anyone else have experienced this and if so, what did you do to solve it? I have two computers. The following is a summary of the first computer: Computer: Computer Type ACPI Multiprocessor PC Operating System Microsoft Windows XP Professional OS Service Pack Service Pack 2 Internet Explorer 7.0.5730.13 DirectX 4.09.00.0904 (DirectX 9.0c) Computer Name DEATHSTAR User Name **** Logon Domain DEATHSTAR Date / Time 2007-10-28 / 11:27 Motherboard: CPU Type DualCore AMD Athlon 64 X2, 2000 MHz (10 x 200) 3800+ Motherboard Name ECS RS482-M (3 PCI, 1 PCI-E x16, 2 DDR DIMM, Audio, Video, LAN) Motherboard Chipset ATI Radeon Xpress 200, AMD Hammer System Memory 2016 MB (PC3200 DDR SDRAM) BIOS Type Award (05/30/06) Communication Port Communications Port (COM1) Communication Port Communications Port (COM2) Communication Port ECP Printer Port (LPT1) Display: Video Adapter ATI Radeon Xpress 1150 (32 MB) Video Adapter ATI Radeon Xpress 1150 (32 MB) 3D Accelerator ATI Radeon Xpress 200/1100/1150 (RS482/RS485) Monitor Dell D1028L [17" CRT] (84779CAT2488) Multimedia: Audio Adapter Realtek ALC655 @ ATI SB400 - AC'97 Audio Controller Storage: IDE Controller ATI IDE Controller Storage Controller ATI 4379 Serial ATA Controller Storage Controller ATI 437A Serial ATA Controller Disk Drive WDC WD20 00JD-22HBB0 SCSI Disk Device (186 GB) Disk Drive WDC WD25 00JS-00NCB1 SCSI Disk Device (232 GB) Optical Drive DVDRW IDE1108 (DVD+RW:8x/4x, DVD-RW:8x/4x, DVD-ROM:12x, CD:40x/24x/40x DVD+RW/DVD-RW) Optical Drive SONY CD-RW CRX230ED (52x/32x/52x CD-RW) SMART Hard Disks Status OK The second computer summary is as follows: Computer: Computer Type ACPI Multiprocessor PC Operating System Microsoft Windows XP Professional OS Service Pack Service Pack 2 Internet Explorer 7.0.5730.13 DirectX 4.09.00.0904 (DirectX 9.0c) Computer Name DEATHSTAR_5600 User Name **** Logon Domain DEATHSTAR_5600 Date / Time 2007-10-28 / 11:31 Motherboard: CPU Type DualCore AMD Athlon 64 X2, 2800 MHz (14 x 200) 5600+ Motherboard Name Asus M2A-VM (2 PCI, 1 PCI-E x1, 1 PCI-E x16, 4 DDR2 DIMM, Audio, Video, Gigabit LAN) Motherboard Chipset AMD 690G, AMD Hammer System Memory 1920 MB (DDR2-667 DDR2 SDRAM) BIOS Type Award (06/26/07) Communication Port Communications Port (COM1) Communication Port Printer Port (LPT1) Display: Video Adapter ATI Radeon X1200 Series (700 MB) Video Adapter ATI Radeon X1200 Series (700 MB) Video Adapter Radeon X1300/X1550 Series Secondary (256 MB) Video Adapter Radeon X1300/X1550 Series (256 MB) 3D Accelerator ATI Radeon X1300 LE / X1550 (RV515) 3D Accelerator ATI RS690 Monitor Dell D1028L [17" CRT] (84779DNSNH98) Multimedia: Audio Adapter SigmaTel STAC9708/11 @ Creative EMU10K1 SB Live! I have a GANGLOAD of stuff installed on the first one, and maybe a fifth (or sixth) of the things on the second one. The second computer has a faster cpu, faster memory. The SATA drive is actually running at SATA ll speed. The first computer SATA drives are running at SATA l speed(s). Even the boot to desktop speed is faster on the first computer. :-O This is very puzzling to say the least. Any suggestions? TIA Jesus Christ: "There is no surer proof of Christ's divinity than that he is still so hated some two thousand years after his death." ***************************** New Site from The Kenzig Group!
