Haldides are wicked deadly if inhaled though. They will remove the =3D
oxygen from your bloodstream and keep oxygen out of your lungs at the =
=3D
same time. You suffocate and die. Never use haldides like Halon in a =
=3D
closed space. I doubt you could find anyone to install such a system in =
=3D
a server room. Water and powder are the practical choices.

I generally try to just not start fires near my server room. Has worked =
=3D
well so far.

Greg

Not water!!! I think I'd rather burn. Halides are the best system to my
understanding as they suppress the oxygen but you don't get the gunk =3D
which
CO2 deposits which the fans love to suck up!

I'd rather thave to clean up a fine powder than get servers that have =
=3D
been
flooded while powered to work again.

This is off topic, but I have a quick question.

We are looking into getting a fire suppression system for our server =
=3D3D
room. The architect for the building recommends plain old water via =
=3D3D
sprinkler head, not any inert gas or anything. He says water is better =
=3D
=3D3D
because the inert gas leaves a fine powder behind that is hard to clean =
=3D
=3D3D
up. I can't believe that water can be any good. Anyone have any =3D3D
insights??
