Personal choice here, but I would go for using Windows script host and I
think the WMI interface object would give you all the power at your
fingertips.  WSH would allow you to read in a text file which held a list of
your machines and then you could iterate over each entry and run the WMI
object methods to rename the machines...
 
checkout the Microsoft Script Center.. which has the answer to most probs
alread coded...
