[windows2000] RAS server

Hi,
I am having a windows 2003 RAS server, and have enabled "CHAP"
authentication method under authentication method.
When i tried connecting from a linux desktop with authentiction method set
to CHAP, it didn't connect.
BTW, How do i know chap secret for a user account?
Any help is appreciated.
