[windows2000] Original File dates

Scenario based question:
Let's say someone emails me a file that they say they created at 1pm.
They email it to me at 1:30pm. I open it at 2pm. The created date
changes to 2pm. Is there any software or way for me to determine the
actual created date, or just the created date of my copy that was
created when I received the email attachment???
