I've done that once for a customer, thay had 3 sites in different
countries.
I added all printers to the startmenu in a special folder, so that they
could change and set the default printer to wherever they wanted to..
Worked fine, and saved me from adding and removing users from printer
assignment groups....

Met vriendelijke groeten / With kind regards

I've done numerous printer mappings via script and AD repository info.

If you want it done interactively, though, why not allow the users to
use the AD search functionality?

Personally, I use an attribute of the PC object in AD, to point to an
OU, where the printers for that PC's physical location are grouped,
hence printer mappings that observe physical location, and AD as a
repository, rather than the old fashioned group / printer(s)
relationship hard-coded into login scripts.
