Yes the 4 series is the one before the 5 series (One of my friends had a
HP Laserjet II or III - can't remember which one but I can remember that
it was big and very heavy). The 4L is a little tiny basic one though.

Meant to ask, is that printer older than the 5/5m series? Sorry, just
realized, the one I have is a ColorLaserJet. That thing weighs a TON!

SR> I am looking to replace my home laser printer, an HP Laserjet 4L
which after many many years of loyal service is starting to show
it’s age. I was looking at getting another HP but am sure I can
get more for less with a different make.

laser printer, speed not a great issue. Can anyone recommend a
make/model, or any to steer clear of?
SR> …or any opinion on the cheap low-end A4 colour laser printers?
It would be nice, but worried about running costs, and possible lower
quality of B&W prints.
