On my work setup I have two 17" TFTs (1280*1024) and a 19" CRT (1600*1200). The TFTs run off my main graphics card and the CRT is off a secondary PCI card. The CRT is only really used for viewing other peoples desktops which is inconvenient when my main monitors are at the same resolution as theirs. I treat the two TFTs as separate monitors so the gap in the middle isn't a problem for me although with Ultramon installed, I can spread single windows over all three screens, flick windows to other screens, drag them etc. Having a document or IDE on one screen with reference material, web browser, email etc on the other is a gigantic timesaver. -----Original Message----- From: windows2000-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:windows2000-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Sorin Srbu Sent: 09 April 2008 08:11 To: windows2000@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [windows2000] Re: OT: Arguments for a bigger monitor Angus Macdonald <> scribbled on Tuesday, April 08, 2008 10:23 AM: Actually, I've been thinking along the same line. Two smaller (and cheaper) monitors to achieve one big. What about the edges that will be in the moddle of your vision? Are they disturbing? Can you attach two monitors to one gfx-card BTW? My knowledge on that side is rather lacking... > For my money, a pair of standard TFTs is far more useful than any single > unit. Keep one screen for workspace and the other for toolboxes.
