I have another option for you, when you get back.=20

Take a gander at this MS technote,
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=3DKB;EN-US;Q193888&ID=3DKB=
;EN
-US;Q193888

About midway down the page it discusses how you can delay the netlogon
service from attempting to start until after the DNS service has
started.=20

'In addition, Windows 2000 Active Directory needs to find and use the
DNS Server service. The Netlogon service can be delayed to ensure that
the DNS Server service is up and running for Dynamic DNS registration
and query for existing Active Directory domain controllers that are in
the DNS server database. Use the DependOnService in the Netlogon and add
DNS to the list of LanmanWorkstation and LanmanServer. This delays
Netlogon from starting until the DNS Server service on that same
computer is started and ready.'

'NOTE: Only delay the Netlogon service for DNS on a Windows 2000 Server
when the DNS service is on the same Windows 2000-based server'

I've seen boot time drop from minutes to under a minute with this
change.=20

Will give it a thrice over on New Years day. It's an off day and I'll
have
some time to tinker! Just resolved another network crisis and it's time
to
eat..finally! :-)

Thanks!
