What a pain. I have been running opera 7 for the past few months and it has
been great on WinXP.

Hi list,

I believe it was on this bitch that I whined about still waiting for IE7
after however many years it's been since IE6. Here is my follow up.
This may be old news to some. IE6 is the last stand-alone version of
IE. Future versions of IE will be in future operating systems. There
will be no download available for future future releases of IE on
current operating systems.

Host: Brian (Microsoft)
Q: when / will there be the next version of IE?

A: As part of the OS, IE will continue to evolve, but there will be no
future standalone installations. IE6 SP1 is the final standalone
installation.

Host: Brian (Microsoft)
Q: Why is this? the anti-trust? (no further standalone)

A: Although this is off topic, I will answer briefly: Legacy OSes have
reached their zenith with the addition of IE 6 SP1. Further improvements
to IE will require enhancements to the underlying OS.

On with Mozilla!
