That's why we don't use standard fans on the rest of the servers and on some critical workstations. My own admin workstation is watercooled and so is the secondary (non-critical) dc The server that burned was the one exception - it was the first amd-based cpu computer we (I) bought some years ago, when heat wasn't that big an issue. I think the standard fans are still okayed by amd for athlons up to 1200 MHz or so. The cpu that failed was a athlon 1200 (upgraded from an t-bird 950) so it might have been on the limit so to speak. What is thermal tape??
