Surely you jest. Everyone knows that MS would not put out an SP that would
break anything.

I have heard that SP2 killed some cd writers. The solution was to get
updated drivers from the manufacturer.

Subject: [windows2000] CD-ripper died

Guys,

For whatever reason my beloved cd-ripper, CD'n'Go, died. I've tried
reinstalling and also tried other rippers like EAC, but none worked.

I've a hunch that maybe there is an ASPI problem. I've tried installing the
ASPI-applet available from MS and also the one from Adaptec, but neither
makes anything better.

I run WinXP SP2. May SP2 have introduced anything bad ASPI-wise? What's the
ASPI-status in general when using cd-ripper with XP?

The CD-ROMs I've tried this with are a standard IDE/ATA Samsung 52x and also
a IDE/ATA LG (or possibly a Lite-On) CD-RW.

Any hints from you ppl?

Thx.

PS. And *NO*, I don't spread my mp3-files. This is for my own use at work.
