At least it's sunny and 80 here today. Always the story here in the
Northwest, nice today ... crappy tomorrow.

Thanks much Daryl.... I was able to come up with a not nice solution, but
at least it's working. For future reference, I bookmarked the site, cuz I
know this will come up again and again.

Sorry about the rain... I'm in San Diego, so we only get sun and clouds most
of the time. I know... I'm whining how? (if you're a redhead and pale, all
you do is burn. :)) Have a great weekend guys.

I tried this and it did not work. I ran across this though and I tried it
and it worked. Put your comments between percent signs like this and you
should be good. (% Comment goes here %) I guess that it tries to create a
variable, but can't becuase of the syntax. Here is the source that I got it
from:

Two tries is better than none. Have a great weekend. Supposed to rain here.

I guess you use double colons like:

                :: WP.bat
                :: Runs WordPerfect
                ::
                @ECHO OFF

                C:
                CD\WP60
                WP

Hope this helps.

Ok, so I'm operating on 3 hours of sleep and trying to write a batch file to
pingsweep our network in anticipation of shutting everything down this
weekend.

I have a list of all the IP and machine names. I want to ping the Ips, and
leave in place the NAME of the server on that IP. BUT... I can't figure out
the character to comment out the rest of the string:

ping x.x.x.x1           ;servername1.peregrine.com.
ping x.x.x.x2           ;servername2.peregrine.com.
ping x.x.x.x3           ;servername3.peregrine.com.
ping x.x.x.x4           ;servername4.peregrine.com.
ping x.x.x.x5           ;servername5.peregrine.com.

Any help would be greatly appreciated... I just can't figure it out, and I
know it's elementary.
