The Energy Star EZ-GPO thingy supports hibernation, which is better than sleep/standby, unless you mean "sleep" as in hibernation. There are three modes, right, just make sure we speak of the same thing (and I'm not missing any state...): (Ordered in energy state) * Full on, ready to use, "normal" state, "On". * Sleep/standby. * Hibernation. * Completely off. -- /Sorin >-----Original Message----- >From: windows2000-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:windows2000-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] >On Behalf Of Steve Snyder >Sent: Thursday, December 18, 2008 8:57 PM >To: windows2000@xxxxxxxxxxxxx >Subject: [windows2000] Re: Auto-shutdown pc's with GPO > >I think even the energy star thing just puts PCs to sleep. no way to do it AKAIK without >a script running somewhere, either manually or scheduled > >vista PCs can be managed via GPO > > >On Fri, Dec 19, 2008 at 4:32 AM, Patrick <london31uk@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > > Yep, > > That is the way I have done it in the past. good old hyena.
