[windows2000] Actions that synch in the domain

Hi list,

I think I remember reading somewhere that there are certain tasks that
will trigger an automatic synchronization in the domain for that task
and others that won't. For example, if I change a user's password, that
task will automatically replicate this information to all of the DCs in
the domain. But, if I change a user's phone number, that will just wait
for the next synchronization to send that info to the other DCs. I
don't think that example is right, but, pretend it is. Does anyone know
what the term is for these things that are immediately synchronized and
the less-critical ones that just wait until the next synchronization?
