Remember, you do need to use the correct port.  I don't think that the
really old D-Links had the auto MDI/MDX.  Mine took a lightning hit at some
point (it came through a cable modem and killed the uplink port).

At one point D-Link's had an MDI/MDX button - which performs an internal
crossover.  If it has one of those, any cable will do.  Plug it in, if not
right, push the button.

The description says that each port supports automatic MDI/MDX detection.
Just use a straight cable and it will be fine.

Yeah, that was what I thought when I bought it too.  It sure is an odd
number to not have an uplink port, wouldn't you say?  It's the older model
of this, http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=69.  It even says in the
description, "no confusing 'crossover' ports."  WEAK!
