winamp was the 1st mp3 player i ever used back on windows 3.11 back in 1997 or so. I was so happy when I got my win 98 machine in 2001 that winamp was still around and kickin'.
I'd not recommend getting the pro as I don't see any features that make it worth the money. Now, if Nullsoft was still making it, I'd probally pay just because I love winamp so much, but since it's aol that runs the show forgetit.

Hi. as far as I'm aware, Winamp will not play tivo stuff.Real networks are the makers of real player, which is another media player that is also very popular, unfortunately it seems to be more popular than Winamp is among the sighted community. Like windows media player it plays lots of video content like DVDs ad such and Winamp won't play dvds either unfortunately. But the reason why blind folks seem to like Winamp so much, I think, is because it's great with audio. and that's what we're gonna pay attention to most, obviously. not that the other players sound bad, but Winamp is a lot easier for us to configure and set up to specific situations from song to song.
