yes, the server is the software you installed on your computer. you go to start menu, programs, SHOUTcast DNAS sub menu, and then press enter on SHOUTcast DNAS configuration. This opens up in note pad and you should be able to figure everything else out. just enter the number of max users or listeners and the password. for example, where it says, max user=32, change that to a number, something like 10 if you're on a broadband connection and you're doing a stream that is suitable for DSL/cable

and further down, you'll see a line that says, password=, the default one is ChangemMe, so change that to something you know. this is the very same password you're going to enter when you use whatever plugin it is to broadcast to your server. and as others pointed out, you'll want to get a dynamic domain from a place like

http://no-ip.com
so that people will be able to use a regular address such as http://stuff.audio-stream.net that way, when your IP address changes, people will still be able to use that very same address no matter what. so the address would look something like this:

http://stuff.audio-stream.net:8000

the colon and the 8000 are the port your server is on by default. i would leave it set to that unless you really know what you're doing.

Good luck!

kathy, the password is one you create yourself, the ip address is the shoutcast ip unless you use something like no-ip.

Subject: Help with setting up a Shoutcast station and the whole password thing

Hi, guys and gals. Been a long time since I've subscribed to this list, but since I'm trying to set up a Shoutcast station, I thought I'd better. Oaky, we're really stuck. We, my husband and I, have configured everything to get our station up and running, but we're really stumped as to where we find the paswword and IP information Shoutcast wants. Here's what the READMe information says, but it's not helping!

SHOUTcast server broadcast password (the "Password" config item on the server's config file)
Kathy Szinnyey

I'm assuming the server is our computer, but we're just not looking in the reight place for these config files. Any help would be, as always, much appreciated.

Peace,
Kathy

Subject: Fix for library problems in latest JAWS 8.0 update!

Hi folks

This is so cool. I figured out how to get the library to work again in the latest JAWS 8.0 update. Note you must be running Winamp 5.33 and the latest JAWS 8.0 update, build 1163 to get this to work, at least that's the combination I'm using here.
Ok here's how to get it to work again.

1. Go to the JAWS menu with insert plus j.

2. Go to options sub menu, and then arrow down to application settings... and press enter.

3. You are now in a list of programs and each one of them has a check mark next to it, don't change any of these unless you know what you're doing. 4. Arrow down to Winamp, or simply press w until you get there and then press the space bar. JAWS should now say, Winamp not checked. Then, tab to the ok button and press enter. 5. I wanted to see if I could get the bookmarks list to read, and sure enough, i was able to get it to read just fine. it's a bit tricky because when you select an item in the list that option actually opens up and you have to press f6 to get back to the tree view of items, but it reads fine now, so you folks with the problem of the library still not reading should be pretty happy about this. i just had to report it here cause i know several people were really starting to get pissed off because their bookmark list wasn't reading anymore. Let me know how this goes for you guys and hopefully, it'll work as well for you as it did for me.
