[win2kforum] Re: IRQ troubles - Update 2

After all this discussion and a great deal of research, I discover that I
have a faulty AMD Athlon. There's a fault detailed at
http://www.gordonfamily.com/AMD/
which in my case affected JPEG images, sound output from mp3 files and CD,
and caused errors in printing and writing music CDs. I've done all the
tests that the AMD techies wanted, and finally they verbally confirmed it's
a faulty chip and I have mailed it back to them for a new one.
In the meantime, I bought a Duron to put in the socket, and everything on
the computer works just fine!

Richard Smith
