Is this a real 'threat' or just a pipe dream? well, i don't think in those terms. wily, when used just as a clone of acme can be replaced by a ported version of acme. but when wily is configured and used with its facilities, it is a better unix-adopted version, and as such, people may wish to stick with it. it is unlikely acme will have some of the things wily now has (such as rpc) and if it did get those things, maybe there would be no reason to keep working on wily... i dunno. time will tell. oz --- there are two real problems in computing: computers are too hard to use and too hard to program. -- brian w. kernighan
