just to clear up an old post:

I fixed this by learning that you can't call a SSI from a text file that is
also called by SSI

I fixed it by putting the ip address ssi on the page as opposed to
calling it from header.txt

I thought I'd put my solution up here if anyone was wanting to know
how to do this
