[webproducers] Re: web hosting question...Thank you all! Oh and Morry, by the way

Hey,

I want to thank you all for the quick responses. I was
pleasantly surprised by the amount of feedback and
wealth of information. This is such a fantastic group,
it's nice to see so many people lending a hand!

I will definitely look into the suggestions and if my
decision comes to a dead tie between a company I do
not know and a member's company or I can provide a
referral so a member can receive $$ ( I know Hostway
did this) no problem it would be my pleasure to do so.

By and by, Morry, it's funny you mention Hostway. I
hosted a few larger sites with them and have been
pleased with the service, however they have only 1
budget plan called "value" on a Unix server which is
fine, however the details were not very appealing...

-5MB Storage
-1GB traffic
-1POP3 email acct.
-only email tech support
-$8.99 p/m
-$40.00 set up fee (ouch!)
-and only a per year contract
*and it said it handled Shockwave. I'm not familiar
w/the program but I would assume since it's Macromedia
as well, MIMME types and flash can be handled.

If you are working on a better deal GREAT! Let me know
the details. I would like to post my site within a
week or so.

Thanks again everyone!

best,
james scola
