[webproducers] successful strategy for a new product

We're launching a new prospective business direction in our company.
Probably it's something that would interest you. But anyway I would greatly
appreciate any comments on whether it's good what and how we do. Is there
any proven ways to market such products?

We've finished our PLM (product lifecycle management) solution - very
powerful integrated business automation system that includes different parts
like Customer Relationship Management and Sales-Force Automation,
Project/Order Management, Billing and Invoicing Systems and Performance
Reports Module. It's time to take it to the next level and we are looking
for serious partner who would invest into mutual venture, take a good
portion in it and preferably cover all the marketing sales related matters.
We don't seek any big investor as of now, but need a good partner to grow
the business together.

The main issue now is a small investment (around $15K) we need to get the
system ready for the ASP model and product line. That would imply
professional usability examination, adjustments for US based commerce model,
adding some features related to specific industry needs, and converting the
system into database independent system. That would give us more
opportunities in selling stand alone products.

Similar products are offered by world-known companies like PeopleSoft,
Sybase, etc, though we're going to "beat" them by our cost-effective
approach. Our PLM (named Teamgine) is not sooo revolutionary in the
functionality, it "just" has very intelligent architecture and smart
business logic not strictly connected to any specific industry. Current
version is oriented for IT industry, but its sophisticated technological
framework allows remodeling the system for business processes in different
industries.

Also we believe that no one has to pay hundred thousands just for big names.
And the implementation may cost 5 times as much as the product itself.
Teamgine is pretty universal, capable to handle 100-people company needs,
easy in implementation and customizable for exact business needs for a
modest cost. What would you say about 1/10 of big name prices? I'm sure that
should be in demand.

So that's the essence of business concept. Low cost development and
maintenance give us high chances to get a top notch product and compete by
the cost.
