[webproducers] Re: project management solution software

I don't think there's a perfect solution out there yet for Project
Management. Some limitations of Project 2K I remember when thinking of
using if for a company wide effort was that it doesn't work with Macs or
Linux so some designers and tech folk get left out. I also didn't find it
useful for collaboration on non-schedule items like documents, meeting notes
or versioning of images that are commonly found on a Web team's Production
site. I didn't use Project 2K to it's fullest so I could be wrong and may
have missed some unique features but this was my experience.

Sitespring wasn't bad but there were other issues with that (I don't
remember what they were but I suggest setting up their demo before buying).
You also might want to look at Groove Networks (www.groove.net), it's a work
in progress but they've been doing it for a couple years now and have been
getting some positive reviews.

I hope that helps.

Subject: [webproducers] project management solution software

hi gang!

a client of mine is interested in implementing project management
solution
software. my gut reaction is to recommend M$ project 2k. however, i
also
want to consider other viable options. the requirements are that the
solution must work on an intranet, allow collaboration and be based on a

highly scalable relational database like oracle or sql server. any
thoughts or recommendations?
