[webproducers] Re: mobile/cell advice

I recently switched from Verizon to T-Mobile. So far, I
haven't had any problems with coverage in the NYC area. I haven't
found any dead spots outside the bowels of large buildings, and the
coverage in my part of Jersey City is much better than Verizon's.

IMHO, the phones you can get with T-Mobile are both better
and much cheaper than with Verizon (probably because T-Mobile is a
GSM carrier). With T-Mobile you also don't have to sign away a two
year chunk of your life to get a good deal on a phone like you do
with Verizon. I got a Sony Ericsson T610 for nothing with a one year
contract. Compared with the $150 + two year contract I would have
had to pay for an LG VX6000 at Verizon, I think I got a very good
deal.

My only concern is how good the coverage will be if I have to
travel any distance outside the city. Verizon coverage in the
hinterlands is much better than T-mobile. However, if you plan on
staying in mostly built up areas, T-Mobile's coverage area seems
adequate. There's a coverage map on the T-Mobile website.
