The Leary Firefighters Foundation is desperately in need of a good, all around
IT person for some part-time work. We are a small non-profit needing to prepare
for growth. We need to learn how to consolidate databases, use our network more
efficiently, and develop our website so it serves us better. So the job
involves helping us with our hardware, our software, and acting as webmaster of
our site. We donít have much $$ but we are a really good cause for someone
still seeking to act on the post-9/11 blues.
Hereís some info about us:
The Leary Firefighters Foundation was founded by actor-comedian Denis Leary in
2000 in direct response to the Worcester, Mass firefighter tragedy in 1999. His
cousin and a childhood friend were two of the six firefighters killed in the
blaze. In the wake of the events of September 11th, The Foundation established
the Leary Firefighters Fund for New York's Bravest to direct money to the 343
families of New York City firefighters who perished in the line of duty.
The mission of The Leary Firefighters Foundation is to provide funding and
resources for fire departments to obtain the highest level of equipment,
technology and training as well as to provide resources to the families of
firefighters who have perished in the line of duty. Along with continuing to
support the New York families and the Worcester area Fire Depts., our goal in
2002 is to be able to support the FDNY in its rebuilding efforts.
Check out our website at www.learyfirefightersfoundation.org and please feel
free to give me a call for more info.
