Does anyone know where I could get copies of contracts or proposals
to use as guidelines in developing my own?

I have found the TechRepublic to have a wealth of information. Try
www.techrepublic.com go to "downloads" and search for "contract". you might
have to register as member (free, and worth it) in order to access the
information.
