[webproducers] Re: What do you think?

There's a simple solution - don't list people on your site without their
consent. Whenever MTC (http://www.maertz.net) creates a site, we ask the
business if we can have our logo on their landing page, and also a link to
their site on our own clients' page. It's entirely their call, but does
improve search engine placement.

Do I think HSN handled it appropriately? Absolutely not. But that's not the
point. They paid him to do some work. He did it...and he was paid. End of
obligation. HSN is not further obligated to help along his career. If he did
"award winning work" then they would likely come back for more. At this point,
given his reaction, that is highly doubtful. They'll find someone else.
Burned bridges are not good.

Hi everybody,
What does everybody think about this guy's dilema regarding his client
list?
For those of you that have small businesses or work independently how do
you
handle this?

Here's an excerpt:

*"I was greeted by a cease and desist letter. Apparently, HSN is not
very pleased that I listed them on the client list page of the web site
for my consulting company, ASPSOFT, Inc. As I read the letter, I got
extremely pissed."
