Hey, I'd be willing to settle for "I hear the going rate is between X and Y..."

I'd post this on the WWWAC list but I'd get a million e-mails bitching about:

A. That I was breaking the law by starting an industry conspiracy to limit 
competition.

B. "I hear in _________ things are so bad they are working for food."

C. "I'm a mad genius so my hourly rate is $1000."

I wish I did have some answers...
