[webproducers] Re: Prepackaged Intranet Sites

An Intranet portal is really just an web-based portal that isn't
publically accessible - e.g. available to the general web.

That being said, there's a ton of open source packages with the
features you desire/require.

check out the following link for a list of some of the more popular
packages along with demos. There are portals, general purpose CMS
packages and message board systems:

Some will meet your needs right out of the box, while others will need
to be customized according to your taste.

Caveat: Open Source solutions *do* require an investment in time to
experiment with and not every package will meet your needs.
Nevertheless, for the flexibility and the price, many can't be beat.
