Project Administrator
Dow Jones Consumer Electronic Publishing (WSJ.com)
Dow Jones? Consumer Electronic Publishing unit (CEP), which publishes The
Wall Street Journal Online and Barron?s Online, seeks a project
administrator to handle editorial, product development and content
management projects. This person will work primarily with the news, product
development and technology staffs of the Online Journal and Barron?s Online,
but occasionally with business departments as well.
This person will handle daily production and operational requests from
editorial and other departments, solve problems and manage a variety of
short-term projects simultaneously. He/she will also keep detailed project
schedules and will assist project managers with longer-term projects.
Candidates should have a bachelor?s degree and 1-2 years work experience;
production and/or project management experience in a news environment is
desired. Recent graduates will be considered if they have relevant
internship experience.
Candidates must have:
a.. Outstanding organizational abilities, including ability to
continuously prioritize and multitask efficiently, as well as to juggle many
day-to-day requests and projects
b.. Extreme attention to detail
c.. Strong understanding of news and the editorial process
d.. Strong oral and written communication skills, including ability to
provide ongoing project updates
e.. Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve as issues arise
f.. Knowledge of Web technologies including online publishing and content
management systems
