[webproducers] Re: How Do I Become A Web Producer?

Patience and passion for all things digital.

Ability to multi-task like you never thought you could.

Clear and concise written skills:  RFP's, SOW's, budget management
(estimating, resource management, contract negotiation and reconciliation) and
scheduling are a must.

Understanding of media planning, strategy and buying.

Learn to use Microsoft Project - although this is not a requisite it can help
with "getting the big picture" for web projects.

Ability to think macroscopically and microscopically.

QA/Testing - writing plans and implementation.

Understanding of basic web graphics standards - vector art, photography,
illustration, file size, etc. (gif, bitmap, jpg, png - file types and
optimization).

Agreed, and, at least for me, you should have a working knowledge of:

XHTML/HTML/DHTML
XML
CSS
JavaScript/AJAX
and other front-end technologies.

Oh yeah, and have a great sense of humor, you're going to need it. ;-)
