Whoa!  Give me a moment to put on the flameproof clothing!

Google Spreadsheets don't *require* Javascript for people who
*respond* to surveys created with it.  There is also a non-JS way to
access Doodle.  I have used both of these, so I do know what I'm
talking about, more than someone who's done a View Source drive-by on
them.

The main reasons to allow non-JS responses are: simplicity,
accessibility (not all devices have it enabled, a few have buggy or
limited implementations and making stuff move around after page load
can be bad for screenreaders) and unnecessary power consumption.

I already mentioned that I'm not sure either of them work for
multi-outcome surveys, but they're in the same space as SM, so seemed
worth highlighting to this list (at least until we have our co-op
survey site running...).
