[wdmaudiodev] Question about volumes in CoolEdit Pro

I'm working with a device that does advanced analysis of digital audio
streams. We feed the audio stream from our WDM driver to this device. In
CoolEdit Pro (1.2 and 2.0), if I playback a WAV (one we created) in
waveform edit view, the volume or power level of the output is different
than when I playback the exact same thing from multi-track view. I'm
even solo'ing the track to make sure there's no mixing or anything. The
V for the track is set to 0.
To get the same volume output as edit view, I have to set the V for the
track at -0.5. Anybody got any clues as to whats happening here?
