Other applications (including ones that use KS, not just DSound/DMusic
or waveOut/In) would be blocked from playing to this particular device
until your application closes.

On that note - one thing I want confirmation on:
If I use Kernal Streaming for my audio application, can any other
application still use DirectX or Wave to play audio?
Or are they "blocked" until my application closes?
Cheerz,
Louis

Thats what I thought. Thanks for the confirmation.

Yes, it is possible under W2k and WinME as well. You
just need to install DirectX 8.1 or higher.

Subject: [wdmaudiodev] AVStream on Win2K??
Hi All:
I am unclear from the docs on wether it is
possible to get an AVStream-based driver to run under anything except
XP.
Any help would be appreciated.
Wade.
