Milwaukee Repertory Theater announces Access Programs for the Quadracci
Powerhouse Theater production of THE NIGHT IS A CHILD, the Stiemke
Theater Production of ENDGAME, the Stackner Cabaret production of HULA
HOOP SHA-BOOP.
To accommodate patrons who are deaf or hard-of-hearing:
Sign Language performances. One performance of each Quadracci Powerhouse
Theater and Stiemke Theater production is interpreted in American Sign
Language. Order your tickets by calling The Rep Ticket Office at
414-224-9490 and inform them that you need to sit in the interpreted
section.

with the actors’ lines are projected on the house left wall of the
theater. When ordering your ticket, please alert the Ticket Office that
you would like to sit in the Captioned section. This is perfect for

Audio Description is a concise narration of the key visual elements of a
theatrical performance. Descriptions are woven in between lines of
dialogue enabling people who are blind or have a low vision to follow
the action. Using a headset attached to a small hand-held receiver,
patrons hear a live, real-time description of the action on stage. Call
William Newcomb at (414) 290-0717 to reserve your receiver.

Commonweal Interpreted Performances
COMMONWEAL ANNOUNCES ASL-INTERPRETED PERFORMANCES FOR 2008
The Commonweal Theatre Company will offer American Sign Language
Interpretation performances of all five of its main stage productions
this year. All performances are on Sundays at 1:30 p.m.
Patrons can see ASL performances of:
Ibsen’s “Peer Gynt” on May 11;
the Pulitzer Prize-winning “Harvey” on June 29;
the musical “Man of La Mancha” on September 7;
a world premiere commissioned play on November 2, which will be
announced this spring;
and the Commonweal’s five-actor interpretation of Dickens’ “A Christmas
Carol” on December 7.
American Sign Language Interpretation services are provided in part by
the VSA arts of Minnesota “Access to Theatre” Project. The Commonweal
offers half-price tickets to deaf and hard-of-hearing patrons.
The Commonweal’s brand new facility is also equipped with assisted
listening devices, available for every performance. For more information
