AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE CLASSES
ASL I : Tuesdays, June 10 - August 12, 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM
If you've been curious about American Sign Language, here's your chance
to learn basic vocabulary, use of expression and finger spelling.
Instructor: Carol Banaszak. The text, Learning American Sign Language
is recommended and is available with registration at CDHH.
ASL II: Mondays, June 9- August 11, 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM
If you have completed a beginning sign course at CDHH or elsewhere, this
class is for you. Develop vocabulary and basic conversation skills and
learn more about how to interact with Deaf adults. Instructor: Katie
Voss. The text, Learning American Sign Language will be used.
Class series is $85 per student, plus text. All registrations must be
received by June 2.
CLASSES FOR CHILDREN & FAMILIES
Communicating with Kids in Sign: A Family Sign Language Class
Tuesdays, June 10 - July 29, 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM
This 10-week sign class is for parents, grandparents, relatives,
neighbors, babysitters and any adult who needs to communicate in sign
language with a young child. The focus is on vocabulary and basic sign
language communication used in the day-to-day lives of deaf and hard of
hearing children and their families.
Class series is $55 for the first family member and $45 for each
additional family member. The book "Signing For Kids" will be used and
is available at CDHH for $12. All registrations must be received by
June 2.
Wee Sign Too! - Baby sign class for parents of hearing infants & toddlers
Tuesdays, June 24 - July 29, 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM
Learn to communicate with your baby before he or she can speak with this
sign language class designed for hearing children up to 18 months old
and their parents or caregivers. Teaching young children to sign can
help them develop spoken language earlier, build a larger vocabulary by
age one, and experience less frustration caused by not being able to
express their needs.
Class series is $25 for parent and child, $10 for each additional parent
or child. Registrations must be received by June17.
Toddler Signing Story Time
Tuesdays, June 24 - July 29, 10:15 AM to 10:45 AM
Toddlers and young children with or without hearing loss will enjoy
popular children's stories such as The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Brown
Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See?, told in sign language.
Class series is $25 for parent and child, $10 for each additional parent
or child. Registrations must be received by June 17.
Mom & Me Sign Class (Dads welcome too!)
Mondays, June 23 - July 28, 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM
You and your child ages 4 through 10 can learn American Sign Language
(ASL) together in this special class designed to make learning sign
language fun. No books necessary -- you will learn signs by
participating in activities, singing and telling stories.
Class series is $30 for parent and child, $10 for each additional parent
or child. Registrations must be received by June 17.
All classes and workshops will be held at the Center for the Deaf and
Hard of Hearing, 10243 W. National Ave, West Allis. For more

Apr 14-May 19: Signing With Your Baby Class
DHHA is now offering 'Signing With Your Baby' class for the community!
Anyone can sign up and attend.
First class will begin Monday, April 14th and continue for 6 weeks at
Wil-O-Way Underwood, Monday evenings
from 6:30pm-8pm. The cost is $75/person and $100/couple which includes
text book and materials.
